The Marriage Between the Land and the People

This series emerged from obsessive scrolling in the aftermath of October 7 and the years that followed. War after war. Rocket after rocket. My fear was that Israel would be flattened into a single image of suffering and darkness, reduced to headlines and breaking news alerts, until it was forgotten as anything else.

But that image is incomplete.

Life here, even under extreme conditions, is not experienced the same way from afar. As our Jewish community doom-scrolled, consumed by trauma and relentless negativity, I felt we were forgetting something essential: Israel is more than war and tragedy.

Israel is home.

Its soil runs through our veins. Its air fills our lungs, settles into our nerves. It guides us. It grounds us. The Land of Israel and the Jewish people are bound together, inseparable. Always have been.

I created this work to help those far away remember. To remember where we come from. To remember the purpose. To remember that we are more than reactionary posts, more than reels about antisemitism.

We are a people of light.
And the land is not a backdrop.
It is our partner.
